Chang enjoyed a fruitful ten years with CBC Montreal before relocating to Vancouver, most recently serving as co-host of the station’s evening broadcast. He covered a number of significant events in Montreal’s history, including the assassination attempt on Pauline Marois on election night 2012 and Montreal’s 2011 federal election night special, which saw the unprecedented rise of the NDP in the province. He was also the first local English television network to inform Montrealers of the killing of mafia boss Niccolo Rizzuto Senior.

The Dawson College massacres, the de la Concorde overpass collapse in Laval, and a month-long trip aboard the Parti Québécois campaign bus during the 2008 provincial election were all covered by Chang while serving as one of CBC’s top staff reporters.

While doing this, Andrew was also working as a video journalist, conducting interviews with different newsmakers, producing written reports, and filming and editing videos. For years, Andrew dedicated his time behind a camera doing both feature-length and news-length pieces. Chang worked on the CBC broadcast crew for the Olympic Games in 2014 and 2016.
