In 1991, Finan joined the KCRA weather crew. Finan was up in New Hampshire and has always been interested in the weather. After completing his meteorology degree at the University of Utah, he started his television career in Portland, Maine. Finan worked in Rochester before to relocating to Sacramento. Since his arrival, he has covered all of the significant meteorological occurrences. He has covered everything, including the winter floods, spring tornadoes, and summer heatwaves.
Finan was among the first meteorologists in the world to be accredited as broadcast meteorologists by the American Meteorological Society. Additionally, Sacramento Magazine has honored him every year since 2000 as “Best TV Weather Guy.”
