Wally Tatomir Career
Tatomir has spent more than 30 years working on ice hockey equipment. He spent a number of years in the Ontario Hockey League playing for the Windsor Spitfire and the Detroit Junior Red Wings. He served as the head equipment manager for the Canadian national young team in the disastrous 1987 World Championships.
He worked as an equipment advisor for the Detroit Red Wings and Los Angeles Kings in the NHL. In 1994, he became a member of the Hartford Whalers (later Carolina Hurricanes). During the NHL’s 2005–06 season, he served as the Hurricanes’ top equipment manager and helped them win the Stanley Cup.
